Measuring 5.875 by 3.75 by 1.0 inches, the Sensi ST55 is deliberately scaled to cover the standard footprint of an older mechanical or non-programmable thermostat. This form factor eliminates the need to patch or paint exposed drywall during a retrofit. Emerson equips the baseplate with an integrated bubble level to assist with horizontal alignment. The external shell relies on straightforward matte plastic housing a high-contrast, back-lit monochrome LED screen and distinct physical push-buttons. Rather than using an interactive color touchscreen, the interface adheres to traditional thermostat conventions, displaying the ambient temperature, setpoint, and basic system modes clearly. It supports dual power configurations, drawing 24-volt alternating current directly from an existing HVAC transformer via a C-wire or operating independently on standard batteries in conventional single-stage systems. A dedicated keypad lockout function is built in, providing physical access control to prevent unauthorized temperature alterations in shared households or light-commercial environments.
