It features an outer mantle constructed from 32 braided nylon strands encasing seven internal core yarns, each comprised of three twisted nylon fibers. At an measured thickness of 4 millimeters (5/32 inches) and a total length of 100 feet, the complete bundle registers at 220 grams. The claimed minimum breaking strength is 550 pounds, or approximately 249 kilograms. The nylon fibers exhibit baseline resistance to moisture, ultraviolet degradation, and routine weather exposure. However, the manufacturing standards cited do not include EN 892, EN 564, or UIAA testing protocols. The core and sheath are designed for static utility rather than dynamic energy absorption. Knot formation is straightforward due to the supple weave, though the cord lacks the abrasion-resistant tight braid found on certified mountaineering accessory cords.
